HELLO,
This essay is very intresting and a symbol of hypochondria.This essay ridicules medical circulars that mislead a common man.There are certain intresting elements to read in this essay.
In this essay a man was a healthy person but he was always doubtful about his health.Once he read a liver-pill circular.He becomes worry.He came to know that he had typhoid fever and he was unware of it.For the sake of confirmation,he want to the "British Museum"and consulted a book of pharmacology.After reading the book,he concluded that he was the victim of certain symptoms of all the diseases which were written in this essay.
He felt that he was suffering from all the diseases.The only diseases which he could not have was house maids knee.He came to know that he was a walking hospital.
He sat down and pondered that he medical students have no need to go anywhere if they found him.All they need to do would be to walk around him,after that take their diploma.
Then he wondered,how long he had to live.He tried to examine his pulse but could not,at first,find any pulse.Then it seemed to start off.
On being much upset,he went to his doctor who was chum and told him his worries.The doctor examined him thoroughly and wrote a prescription.He took it to a chemist,he read the prescription and laughed,he told the man that he was not able to oblige him because he did not run a store or a hotel.
He opened the prescription and read it,it was written,"To take balance diet and exercise and do not stuff your mind with things you cannot understand".The man acted upon his doctor advice,his life was preserved and is still going on.
