Make time for exercise that will keep you healthy and strong. We cannot afford to skimp on exercise, gain weight and lose our health due to inactivity. It can be hard to find the time with a full time job and children at home to care for, but it can be done and it’s a worthwhile project to you and your family. Be creative. I have a list that can work for you and you will find many more to work in at your convenience. So get to it and get the kids outside to get fresh air and exercise. Our kids are too inactive. It’s essential for them too.
30 minutes a day of exercise is crucial for your health. Many of us think we don’t have time for exercise but if it is necessary we can get up early every morning and take a brisk walk or do our 30 minutes with a video before breakfast. There really is no good excuse unless we are too sick or too feeble. If you simply can’t get up that early, there are other ways to fit in exercise.
Take the stairs at every chance.
Park far away from stores or the office and walk.
Take a walk break instead of a coffee break.
Take a mini break to eat a small lunch before lunch time and walk during your lunch break.
Find a coworker to walk with you. It will keep you motivated.
Stand up every chance you get during the day and touch your toes.
Do leg raises under your desk.
Tighten your buttocks and belly often while sitting at your desk and while driving.
Keep weights on your desk so you can do bicep curls while talking on the phone.
When you have time, go out with the kids and chase them around the lawn. Lay down on your back and raise your little ones with your feet. They love this and will keep you at it. Exercise can be fitted into your day. Be creative. You will find many ways to get the exercise you need to stay healthy and strong.
