If you like cooking then you might have found yourself wondering if you can make some money from your recipes, and there are many ways of making at least some money from writing and publishing your own recipes.

The first way you can earn from your recipes is article writing sites like Expertscolumn. Sites like Expertscolumn allow you to publish articles on a range of subjects, including recipes. You could also publish them on other writing sites such as Triond and Helium. There are many other writing sites around too where you could earn by building up a collection of recipes.

Many magazines welcome recipes as fillers for their magazines; sometimes they pay and sometimes they don’t. From the magazines I’ve looked at, recipes can pay from approximately £5 in the UK. However, there is no guarantee that your recipe would be accepted so it is not a guaranteed way of earning money.

Some magazines and websites also have competitions where you can enter you recipes. The prizes for these often aren’t financial but some do offer cash prizes. Prizes for these kinds of competitions would usually be items from food companies etc.

If none of the above ideas appeal then you could always write your own recipes books. Publishing your own books has never been easier and it doesn’t have to cost you anything. You can publish on Kindle for free or you could take it a step further and sell your recipes on discs as information products either from your own site or via auction sites such as eBay.

Yes, really useful article. Thanks

Glad you found it useful.

Really useful article jane789 I have been meaning to send some recipies off to magazines for ages, this was a good gentle reminder, that I should probably get my skates on. I also wasn't sure how much they paid so this was really handy, thanks :)

Good Luck. I hope they get published.
