Some things I do in order to watch my weight:

How to lose or maintain weight, is certainly a very popular topic these days. It being summer and all I’ve decided to write a column about the ways I keep myself in shape. My favorite way to read things such as a good how to or any sort of instruction is by putting all the advice and tips into a list of steps. So, with out further a due, here we are:

Step one- There are lot’s of people telling you that a good way to lose weight is to stop eating sugary and processed foods. And, while it is a good idea to limit your intake of these processed foods, I actually think you should include these things in your diet, because when you deprive yourself of these foods you not only end up wanting them more and begin having massive cravings toward them. But, when you finally decide that you want to indulge a little, it can go from a little taste to a BIG binge. Also, it’s important to note that when you aren’t eating those foods, your body gets used to it and then you actually have a greater possibility of gaining weight when you reintroduce it to your body. So a good thing to do is make healthier choices more frequently but when you have a little craving you should try and practice self-discipline and eat what you want in moderation. (note this is my opinion and what's worked for me i am not a medical doctor.)

Step 2- Finding Replacements- Let’s say you’re craving some ice cream instead of ice cream you could also be having frozen yogurt, or sherbert. Ben and Jerries makes a great frozen yogurt in a variety of different flavors, and you can ‘t even taste the difference. And the difference in calories is pretty significant. One pint of their frozen yogurt with a total of four servings is about 170 calories per serving. It’s pretty righteous.

Step 3- This one tends to shock people, but if you take the stairs vs. the elevator you end up burning a massive amount of calories over time. You should also park your car further a way. Walking is an excellent way to burn extra calories, if you can walk to your destination vs. drive, you definitely should.

These are just a few things that have worked for me in the past. I’m not a medical doctor or anything I just believe in living a healthier lifestyle and I do what I can to make being healthy a fun thing vs. something I dread.
