Lucija Zaninovic, Croatian representative in taekwondo, in the beginning of the competition convincingly won the first two fights. In the semi-final she lost fight, but after the great battle for the bronze medal she won deservedly.

Croatian Taekwondo representative in the category to 49 kg Lucija Zaninovic, has won the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in London, she was in the battle for the bronze medal with Jannet Alegria from Mexico, and Lucija has won that fight with a result of 6-5 (1-4, 3-0, 1-1, 1 -0) with a "golden point" in overtime.

This bronze medal of Lucija Zaninovic was third Croatian medal in London, after silver Quadruple Sculls, and gold from Sandra Perkovic.

Also, this is the third Olympic medal in taekwondo for Croatia and the third the bronze medal.
All three medals for Croatia, were won in taekwondo. Four years ago, bronze medal has won Martina Zubcic (up to 57kg) and Sandra Saric (up to 67kg).

Lucia has won a medal with a kick in chest, after a minute and 19 seconds of fight in overtime. She has in collection two titles of European champion, but this is the greatest success in the career of this 25-year old girl from Split. Congratulations Lucija.
