This is a Haiku which seeks to concisely portray love's chance for happiness.

It is undeniable. We are all gamblers in one respect or another. We all, at one time or another, have played the odds in our life. And where love was concerned, how often we found ourselves on the edge of reason, sometimes gambling our hand away. The human creature, the most social of the Almighty's Creations. We are so much in need of the company of others on so many different levels. And in the expanse of human experience, our relationships are of the most primary of concerns. They act as our very own beacon of support, or at the other extreme have caused our life to be a hellish nightmare. Whatever the end result you can be sure of one thing, we will continue riding Love's roller coaster until we find that emotional satisfaction and love our heart's so desperately need.

The well known saying (or common marriage oath), "Until death do us part," is an inseparable fact of the marriage experience. Yet, still more difficult is to find the right love that will happily navigate the trials and tribulations that the marriage union encompasses. This is why in a very real sense, to many of us, life is a gamble. We rely on the advice of our heart in making that decision with whom to spend the rest of our life with. If we're successful and appreciate making it happen, while sincerely working hard on "making it work," then none would disagree, we have surely Hit the Jackpot! Congratulations!!

The Haiku now follows:

love me, love me not
all you have is but one shot
to hit the jackpot

nicely done. Yes. A marriage partner is for life even if the marriage ends. I express this to young adults all the time. Any long term relationship. The hope is all/any long term relationship decisions are chosen both wisely and they are favorable.
