Conditional And Unconditional Love

Love is undoubtedly the most often used and liked word in English. Human life revolves around love. Man is a social animal and can't live without love. Both men and women crave for love all through their lives. First, we love our parents. Then our love extends to our relatives, friends, spouse, children and so on. Most of us love God. Love: There seems to be two kinds of love. One is conditional love and the other is unconditional love. Conditional love is what find everywhere. Unconditional love does not seem to exist, may be something close to unconditional love exists, let us talk about it now.

Conditional love: Love is always conditional. You love your parents because they help you a lot in many ways. You love your relatives because you can get help from them. You love Michael Jackson because he made you happy with his pop music. You love Bruce lee because he made you happy with his extraordinary Kungfu fighting skills. You love the baby because it is cute and gives you happiness when you watch it. So almost every love is conditional. You may think you love your spouse unconditionally. No, the fact of the matter is that you expect so many things from the spouse. When you get something short, you are unhappy. This dissatisfaction triggers and later bursts out as bigger misunderstandings in a relationship or marriage.

Unconditional love: I wonder whether unconditional love really exists on this wonderful Earth. In my opinion, there is no unconditional love. Every love has expectations and conditions. If the husband does not earn enough for the family, the wife may not shower him with the same intensity of love she showed before. If the wife does not care her husband up to his expectations, his intensity of love declines. Every love has expectations and conditions. I think parents love especially the mother's love can come close to unconditional love. I think the mother's love is divine and almost unconditional.

Love God: Loving God seems to be easier and most divine. If you love God sincerely, you will realize God's love. You will know that God loves you too. You need not pay a prize for getting God's love. On the other hand, you need to pay a prize to get human love. God is all love. God's love is unconditional. If you can love God unconditionally with immense faith, you can get connected to Him and feel His unconditional and enormous love. Faithful prayers can truly move mountains. But having full faith is perhaps impossible for us. Never mind, love God as much as you can. The more you love Him, more blissful your life will be.
