The shape of modern language today has changed and evolved so much since the birth of the Internet and the ever increasing use of mobile phones, that it can sometimes be difficult to understand what someone is attempting to tell you.  It has morphed to such a degree in fact that it's practically a whole new language in it's own right. Changes in the use of words and there meanings also happen so quickly its hard to keep up.

I spend a fair amount of my time on-line, it's part of my job. But even I still come across new acronyms that take me a while to figure out. The newbies of the Internet world must be feeling like its a conversational mine field. Still theres no need to panic just yet, I have compiled a list of the most commonly used text and chat room speak, so you can safely navigate your way round modern communication methods without getting confused of feeling clueless.  HIH, sorry I mean, hope it helps.

LOL = laughing out loud.

FCOL = For crying out loud.

KOL = Kiss on lips.

INPO = In no Particular order.

WTGP? = Want to go private.

WTMUL? = Want to meet up later?

FB = Facebook.

IOW = In other words.

PTMM = Please tell me more.

FTPO = Fancy the pants off.

DTYP = Don't tell your parents.

IRL = In real life.

KISS = Keep it simple stupid.

CRLN = Can't remember last night.

IMHO = In my humble opinion.

F2F = Face to face.

AWE? = Are we exclusive?

AUOYO? = Are you on your own?

BWL = Bursting with laughter.

POV = Point of view.

CRIA = Come round I'm alone.

IJWTS = I just want to say.

LTNT = Long time no type.

TSR = Totally stupid rules.

CIG = Can't I'm grounded.

$0.02 = My 2 cents worth.

OTOH = On the other hand.

AFAIK = As far as I know.
