List of Good Things Muammar Gaddafi Done for The People of Libya
In this Column I will tell you how people of Libya spent their lives during the period of Muammar Gaddafi. I will exclude all the bad things and only discuss about the Good things only.
Muammar Gaddafi is dead! Well we all know about that. But some of the good thing you might not know. This is why I am writing this short article to let you know about his contribution to Libya. Yes he was not a good leader , he had many political problems. But still he has done some good work for his country. So, I have decided to share some of his good things.
If you are thinking I am a Gaddafi supporter then you are wrong. I am not a Gaddafi supporter , neither I am like other people who are dancing because he is dead. I am just sharing some of the good things of Gaddafi and excluding the bad one. I know most of you are fed off by listening all the bad things about him.
Most of the people will argue about these facts but these facts are arguably true.
Muammar Gaddafi's contribution to the people of Libya:
1. All the newly weds people of Libya used to get about 50,000 dollars from Government to lead a very happy life.
2. Home is the basic right of every citizen of Libya.
3. There was no electricity bill in Libiya. Electricity was free in Libya.
4. No interest loan for the people of Libya according to Law. Gaddafi was against interest since interest is forbidden in Islam.
5. Gaddafi has increased the literacy rate from 25% to 83%. Education expenses in Government universities are free in Libya.
6. Medical expenses in Government hospitals was free in Libya.
7. The price of the patrol was 0.14 cents in Libya. Yes we all know Libya has got good petroleum resources. But the price seems to be too low. Isn't it?
8. When Libyan citizen wants to buy a car, Government used to subsidized 50% of the price of the car. 50%? sounds great!
9. A huge bread used to cost only 15 cents in Libya.
10. The GDP per capita of Libya is very high. Over 15,000 us dollars. Purchasing power was very high compare to the GDP.
11. The economy of Libya was improving rapidly. In 2010 it had 10% growth. It has not external debts. It also has the reserves amount of 150+ billion dollars.
12. Unemployment fees were given from the government until the person finds a Job.
13. A Libyan mother used to get 5000 us dollars for giving birth a child.
There were some of the things people of Libya got from the Government of Gaddafi. I hope you have enjoyed reading about these facts, They are all past now. I went to Libya in 2010 March where we spent a week in Tripoli, those guys there gave each of us 100+ students from 43 African countries 150dinahrs for shoping and gave us Lesotho students and others 100 us dollars the day we departed. I bet Libyans r going to weep 4 the rest of their now missarable american made lives. I looved Gaddaffi since I was born still love him 2day. I still have his big poster in my studio even 2day. he left me a legacy from his mouth while there.

Its all very true. my parents used to live in Libya, they said that they were so luxurious and peaceful days in their lives.... people were very happy until jews conspiracy acted there.. All this anti gaddaffi literature has been advertised by CIA , there was no popular uprising but goons given guns by america. What ever he was can any country increase it's literacy from 10 to 90 percent in few years. Look at facility he gave to average citizen in libya and hands down no other country could ever do it.

Great article. I know all the good things he done for his country. I do not believe he was a bad leader, he was only made a tyrant by the west which misled the people of Libya to hate him. He was not a threat to the world, he only abides by the Islamic law and the kaffir among the Libyans was against him and they took that advantage. Well he killed bad people that would put his country in bad ways. Some countries such as Brazil protect Criminals in jails and don`t kill them. At the end they get ou of jail and kill working people. So Now brazil have a hight murder rate like 150 a day and there is no war there. So think twice about who is getting killed and who is not.
By the way if you look at Rebels you'll see many are not from Lybia they are from outside. there are more game in this than we know.
i think that Gaddafi was an asset to the African continent as a leader who had the balls to stand up to the western imperialist powers. For that and all of the contestation that the west faced from Gaddafi really at their desparity gave them a reason to illiminate him and the Rebels where their plan of assination. you know Gaddafi had the potential to make the African continent the most powerful of all continents, firstly by providing free tertiary education and by making efforts to change African currencies into gold which is a mineral that Africa has plenty of and, the US dollar could not compete with it. and most of all Libya is a free country since it is the only country that did not owe the world bank and the IMF. what we should be concerned about right now as africans is whether we will get another leader who will have the balls to continue the revolution that Gaddafi has started. Robert mugabe has the the potential but is to much of a dictator we need a lead who will act in good faith

Libyans made the biggest mistake by allowing themselves to be deceived by the USA and NATO. This is unacceptable because even America government can not give to their citizens what Gadaffi gave to libyans. If they claim they are the peace makers why were they not supportive to Rwanda and many poor countries that do not have oil during crisis. Some of the countries bombing libya are indebted but libya has a reserve of over 150 billion dollars. Anyway, I guess the libyans were idle. They should find out from countries like Nigeria to know how sweet democracy is. Is the idea of good leadership about democracy or good governance? Gadaffi is dead and gone but his legacy remains. The libyans should be wise enough to elect a libyan leader not a man that will please America and allow his people suffer. Gaddafi had good plans for Africa as a whole, Africa was supposed to stand up and protect him against the EU and US. RSA,Nigeria and Egypt as the biggest economies should have worked against the NATO's red-neck devils. We still need our African Monetory Fund as well as United States Of Africa. I think with all these free and good things, the Libyan people became idle. and as its said idle minds are the devils play ground. the devils came lied , killed, and destroyed Libya and now they are going to steal from them unrelentingly. How comes the west allowed The Rwandan genocide, how come they are not helping Somalia 20yrs down the line, ( there was and is nothing to steal). How comes they did not bother about south Sudan until oil was discovered. how comes the US is sending troops to Uganda whereas Kony has been there for so many years and they did not bother until oil was discovered.

it is not the libyans that want a different goverment, they were happy with gaddafi, american goverment made it look like libyans wanted a different goverment and used rebels to kill gaddafi and also used the rebels for interviews in their american media to make the american people believe that gaddaffi was bad. Every leader does bad things, its impossible not to stray from an "ideal" way of ruling a country. What Gaddafi did though was immeasurably significant and played a vital role in Libya's staggeringly sky-rocketing economy and education. They won't realize until later how much they'll miss him.

I think, Libya will get good leader more than Mr. Gaddafi. If Libyans want to search good life they should respect their own country. I have read in above details it mentioned about literacy (5. In my opinion Gadaffi was one of the best leaders who has just been killed due to the negative attention he received from the western nations which are getting rid of any element of resistance that comes on there way. Thanks to all of you for commenting. Yes he has done some good works beside some bad works. Actually people got fed up on him. He ruled out Libya for almost 40 years. It's not possible to keep happy every families of Libya. The main thing is that, he had bad relation with other powerful nation.
No matter what, good or bad, no HUMAN deserves to go through public humiliation. Neither the ones he killed,tortured and brought evil deeds upon nor him. Yes there is obvious anger built around what he did, and many families broken, but what makes us better then these terrible people if vengeance seems to be the only answer? We need to show humanity that we are in the right, that we can have a stable and peaceful country without resorting to violence, or taking revenge upon those who bring about hatred.
We need to bring back civilization amongst humans and peace. Though it seems like the chances of winning the lottery is greater than ever accomplishing that, we need to start from somewhere.
