Experts have always warned us about the dangers of eating too much fast food. They have told us time and again about the dangers associated with this so tempting and relatively cheap fast food but some of us till today still go in for them in large quantities ignoring the warnings.
Today maybe some of us might change our minds about consuming fast foods after hearing what some researchers in Spain have discovered about fast foods.
According to researchers from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the University of Granada in Spain, they have found a strong link between consuming fast food and depression. The study conducted revealed that people who consume fast foods highly increase their risks of suffering from depression. The researches say that fast food eaters are 51 percent more likely to suffer from depression than people who do not consume fast food on regular basis.
The results and theory of the study has however led to some controversies as another school of thought strongly disagree with it, saying that it can be possible that the fast food consumption isn’t actually what is causing the depression but the depression already inherent in the people might be what leads them to eat more fast food. Other studies have shown that many depressed people find great comfort in food – especially fast foods. For someone that is clinically depressed eating fast food is one of the ways they can ever have some level of comfort in their lives.
Many scientists and psychiatrists are insisting that more research be made into the link between fast food and clinical depression.
