Learning: About the Author Selina Fugate

About the author presents authors from every genre you might imagine. These authors are authors you would otherwise not know about or have limited knowledge of them or their work. These are authors who have taken the time to write more about themselves to share with their readers than most of the well-known authors that everyone has heard about take the time to do.

This author wrote her own “About the Author” for those parties interested so that they might know more about her and her work on a personal level rather than just a professional level. She is a new author and will have her work released very soon. She wants you to be aware of that time frame so you can watch for the release of her upcoming book, “The Veil.”

About the Author

 My name is Selina Fugate. I'm 25 years old, a mother of two wonderful toddlers, and a book nut/author. I remember my mother stopping at random yard sales during the summer, and instead of digging through random toy treasures, I'd tackle the cardboard book box stashed to the side. Goosebumps then progressed to me sneaking old bodice rippers from my mother's bookshelf as a tween, and, of course, getting them taken away just whenever I'd get to the overly "romantic" parts.

As a teen I wrote hundreds of poems that never saw the light of day. My love of writing went into hibernation for a while, and it wasn't until after my divorce that I began to write again. It started as a way to relieve stress, then once again became a passion. I'd be stumbling through the kitchen at 3AM to get my youngest a bottle and BAM, another idea for my story would hit. I'd chug a Pepsi, wipe the crust from my eyes, and jot it down while it was still fresh.

My YA fantasy novel, The Veil, will be launching this year on July 22nd at Fandomfest in Louisville, KY through Blackwyrm Publishing. It's about a teen-aged witch that's stalked by an evil warlock. She's cursed to relive the same day over and over, but dies a new way each day. Of course, it's not as gloomy as it sounds. Some colorful heroic characters do lend her a helping hand. I'd like to think it's a fun, fast paced read, with some juicy bits of horror to keep both the young and seasoned interested.
