League of Legends: Next Big Thing?

League of Legends is a MOBA(Massively online Battle Arena) game that was developed by Riot Games, for the Windows Operating System. It was created using the idea of DotA All Stars, a custom map for the video game Warcraft III - The Frozen Throne.

In this video game, there are 3 modes. Three versus three, five versus five, and five versus five computers. In the game, there are three lanes, Top, Middle and Bottom. Your teams goal is to kill the constantly spawning creep waves along side your creep waves. You must destroy the enemy towers, which will attack you. Be aware of the mini map, as the enemy may plan a surprise attack on you. After you kill 3 towers in one lane, there will be something known as the Inhibitor. After it is destroyed, your creeps spawning in that lane will become more powerful. Your goal now is to destroy the Enemy Nexus, thus ending the game.

This video game has recently become very popular as it is much simpler than DotA All Stars, which required constant movement with your mouse and keyboard. In the competitive field, League Of Legends has been in many tournaments. Some notable ones are WCG, NESL and MLG.

On Average, this game has over 4 million players playing per day.
