Unique page views, or UVS, figure prominently on any websites and are always very interesting especially when it shows the status or ranking of our favourite writing sites like Expertscolumn in relation to Triond and Wikinut. I regret that I will limit the competitiveness to these publishing sites for which I write the past year or so..
Who do you think will be the winner, hands down?
EXPERTSCOLUMN
EC, as Expertscolumn is known for short, has enjoyed the confidence the most as gleaned from the growing exodus of writers from Triond and Wikinut, in particular, as well as from others like Hubpages, Squidoo, Associated Content, Knoji, etc.
But here's the score for EC as of August 2012. Quite sadly, it suffered a slight dip again from 115,641 in July to 106,967 this August, a 2-month consecutive decline from its highest of 140,704 in June this year. Now that is worrying unless EC will do enough to arrest the further decline. I hazard a guess the subsequent dip had to do with the sale of Expertscolumn now being bruited about on the net for the uncertainty it created, but I'm not sure. But wait.
TRIOND
I wasn't on Triond yet when most writers and would-be friends had been enjoying their heyday, raking in dollars from Triond, and by the time I signed up there, the site was slowly but surely descending to its ebb. I have since posted 14 or so articles there and seldom, if ever, do I visit to see how I fared. Last I checked, the figure in cents, after a year, more than justified my absence, though, I must admit, I am open to rebuke from friends who benefitted from Triond.
Triond's score card is a consistently fall from grace, at 82,598 to date from 268,855 in October 2011. Period.
WIKINUT
Much as I still consider Wikinut as "my mother site" as I began my writing "career" there, it had' done much for many writers and I there to get disillusioned. So most regular writers deserted it. Incredibly low pay is one thing, insensitive administrator, another.
Although it is clawing out its doldrum of 48,931 in July to 55,035 to date, it still flunks among the three..for obvious reasons!
And the winner is still Expertscolumn!
For other writers who write for Hubpages, Squidoo, Knoji, Asociated Content, and Bukisa, which I don't, please see their incidental rankings as decked out below with Wikinut, Triond and Expertscolumn.

Comments
Thanks for the info!
You're most welcome, my friend.
It would be interesting to know the number of new pages added to each site, so as to judge whether falls in views are related to drops in number of new articles being posted, but I guess that information would be very hard to glean.
interesting point bruce
It is indeed interesting, Avi. Thanks, Bruce for the insight, as always.
Thanks all for the comments. I think the dip in Ec's ranking is not a cause for concern as fluctuations naturally occur. Regardless, it only affected the sites' UVS and not our earnings, and besides EC is still on top, anyway. Introducing improvements as it has done should arrest the decline, like having images and videos on our columns, perhaps? And I think EC should remain in the same capable hands, and not for sale.:)
thanks for the share. currently am feeling totally disillusioned!
My page views seem to have picked up recently although I had noticed a dip. I imagine page views are down on a lot of sites during the summer weather when less people are indoors.
The news that there is a slight decline for EC is really of concern.
Highly informative article. Gained lot of knowledge through your article. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Krishna, for the comment.
Interesting info. Then that leads to what steps can be taken by us the authors and the website itself to get more outside folks visiting the website and thus increasing the views.
I already post the link on my websites, and twitter my posts but I am certainly open to other suggestions.
The trick is to get new folks to the website with high quality and interesting articles and eliminate some of the junk on here. I think that would help immensely if EC wants to be a player in the competition.
Just my humble 2cents
try linking EC links on squidoo
I agree with you, EJ. Thank you for the input. Much appreciated.
Thanks for the visit, Han.
