I’ve seen almost all of Johnny Depp’s movies; even his first movie. I saw his first movie without knowing that he was in it. Only after he became famous did I realize that he was in the first Nightmare movie.

Johnny Depp has a knack of playing weird characters like Edward Scissorshand and Willy Wonka. It has become a sort of trademark of his. If he’s in a movie, you can be sure that he’s going to play some weird character. I think that is the reason why I like him. So here’s my list of Johnny Depp best movies. Don’t miss any of them.

Ed Wood (1994)

Johnny Depp plays the titular role who was a desperate director who could manage only to make bad movies. This movie was shot in black and white to give the ambience of the good old days before color. Martin Landau plays Bela Lugosi who was the actor whom Ed Wood became so attached to that he went all out to cast Lugosi in all his movies.

Donnie Brasco (1997)

Johnny Depp brilliantly brought Donnie Brasco, an FBI mole, to life in this movie. Donnie Brasco’s real identity is Joe Pistone but as he gets deeper into the mob organization, the line between what’s real and what’s not becomes blurred that Joe Pistone becomes sympathetic towards his mob mentor, Lefty more than he does his own FBI bosses.

Secret Window (2004)

Johnny Depp plays a writer, Mort Rainey who is in the process of a divorce from his cheating wife played by Maria Bello. While at his cabin, he is approached by a man who claims that Rainey has stolen his story. Thus, begins a series of events that lead Rainey to believe that his life is in danger.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005)

Johnny Depp is Willy Wonka who owns a chocolate factory. He wants to find an heir to his factory and so creates a contest where the winner will inherit his chocolate factory. Willy Wonka is one of the weirdest characters Johnny Depp has ever played besides Edward Scissorshands.

Pirates of the Carribbean movie series

I think that Johnny Depp will be remembered best for playing the crazy and unstable Captain Jack Sparrow. It is one of the most memorable characters Johnny Depp has ever played.

You can’t talk about Pirates without Captain Jack Sparrow and you can’t talk about Jack Sparrow without thinking of Johnny Depp. Johnny Depp is Captain Jack Sparrow and no one can play Jack Sparrow better than Johnny Depp.This is one of the best characters that Johnny Depp has ever played.
