Jhalak Dikhlaja 5 Winner Declared - Gurmeet !

Update as of September 30, 2012:

Gurmeet Choudhary is the winner of JDJ Season 5. The Grand Finale was held on Sunday, Sep 30, and had guest star Sridevi as well. Although there were lots of performances on the very day, the points, scores and public votings were limited to just a day before.

Rashmi Desai stood the runner up and Rithwik was crowned the third place. (For details about 29 September episode, read below)

It is the 5th season of the most popular celebrity dance competition show in India - Dancing With The Stars (Indian Edition) and the grand finale is just over 3 weeks away.

Only 6 couples remain till date and one is going to be eliminated coming Saturday.
The 6 celebrity who are in the show are:
  • Bharti
  • Isha
  • Gurmeet
  • Rithvik
  • Karan
  • Rashmi

Out of all these contestants, only Isha Sharvani and Rashmi Desai seem to have given consistent performances. They have got 30 out of 30 in most of their episodes and they also get tons of votes from the Indian audience.

 

Darsheel Safary and Avneet were eliminated last episode

The kid-celebrity Darsheel Safary, who made debut in the Bollywood with Taare Zameen Par was eliminated in the last episode. His partner Avneet also went out of the show with him on September 1, 2012 episode.

 

Stars danced with the choreographers from Las Vegas

The September 8, 2012 episode was a phenomenal day in the history of India. For the first time on a dance show, international choreographers taught the celebs their dance style and awed the judges. No celebrity was eliminated that episode.

The international choreographers were called from Dancing With The Stars USA, Las Vegas.

 

Isha Shervani was badly hurt and she could be eliminated on September 15 episode

Isha Shervani, who was hurt during dancing rehearsals in the Jhalak house could not perform this week. So she got 0 points from the judges. Her only hope is to get enough votes from the Indian audience.Everyone who has watched Isha’s performances and acts in the set was sure that she would be the winner. Unfortunately, her right hand is fractured and cannot perform anymore. Let’s see what’s the outcome next Saturday.

 

Episode - 15 September, 2012

The team of Barfi arrived on the sets of JDJ - Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana. Unfortunately, Karan Wahi was eliminated this week.
 
 

Updates from September 22, 2012

In a tragic event, Bharati could not practice her dance for the semi-finals. She was going through pain and doctors made it clear that she should take at least 15 days rest from dance. However, she made an effort to come to the JDJ sets and apologise, and withdraw from the show. So, Bharati was eliminated this week.
 
The ones left are Rithvik, Rashmi, Isha and Gurmeet.
 
 

September 29, 2012 The Finale Episode

Karan Johar's up and coming film "Student of the Year" is going to be released on October 31, Friday and the actors paid a visit to the "Dancing With The Stars India" this Saturday episode. The debutante actors Sidharth, Alia and Varun rocked the stage with the hit song "The Disco Song".
 
Coming to the show, Isha withdrew from the competition today as she again fell during the rehearsals. Don't worry, she did not hurt too badly, only minor scratches. However, doctors and her relatives advised her to stay out, so did she.
 
So we have the TOP 3 of Jhalak Dikhlaja Season 5 - Rithwik, Rashmi and Gurmeet.
