I know what I hate and I'm sure that you do too but how about new Google search for the iPad?. Now, I've been the proud owner of an Apple iPad for a couple of years now and I really love its versality, portability, apps and design. Using the Google search engine was extremely easy using the iPad's orientation and pinch and squeeze technologies. The search came up with a page of many listings and I became extremely adept at searching here, there and thither. So what's happened now Google, you've gone all evil on me and introduced a new dumbed down mobile version of the search engine?. What you get now is a search page tailored to fit the iPad screen with fewer listings per page and the ability to pinch and sqeeze disabled. Why, Google?. The pinch and squeeze engineering is in part what makes the iPad so user friendly and effective.
Usually, when new formatting is introduced by any company on their web pages one is given the opportunity to revert back to the older format if the newer format is not desired. Take YouTube mobile for example, at the bottom of the home page there is a blue revert to desktop version of the site which can be activated if so desired, not so with Google search. Is the new format anything to do with advertising revenues I wonder?
For a company that purports to listen to its users this new move is a bad idea. Does anyone reading this on Expertscolumn have a view on this, does anyone agree or disagree with my comments, I'd be very interested to know? Please feel free to drop a comment into the comments box below.
Finally, I learnt yesterday that Steve Jobs has stepped down as CEO of Apple, presumably because of his recent health problems. I wish him all the very best in his recovery and also wish him a great future. A true genius in more ways than one.
If you have found this article informative or interesting then please read the other articles in my I Hate...series. Thanks.
Update...Well, it looks like they finally listened, desktop option now available bottom right. Nice to know that maybe Steve Jobs read my article! ;)

This is awful...I thought I accidentally downloaded a google app, it's terrible and hard to find what you're searching for. This absolutely has to do with advertising companies, and it's not right for apple to be able to just completely change a website because they are trying to cut a bullshit deal with google and the advertisers...
Couldn't agree with you more. Another example of Google riding roughshod over their users and not listening to their criticisms.
