A note to my friends to say why I have been absent recently. Due to a little episode I have spent the last few days in the hospital. We thought I would be released yesterday but we kept waiting until 9:30 last night and finally gave up. I did get home this afternoon and just in good time. My granddaughter said otherwise she was coming to break me out. It saved her a lot of trouble and maybe kept both of us out of jail.
A little episode put me in the emergency room at the hospital and they decided to keep me awhile in order to do tests. Believe me,they did a few tests. They kept me busy wheeling me from one section of the hospital to another doing one more test. Of course, they don’t intend you to sleep in the hospital. If you go to sleep someone comes in to draw vials of blood, or to take your blood pressure reading, or just to insure that you are not sleeping. It was hectic and I am glad to be home. the first thing I did was go to bed and take a nice long nap. After that my grandson in Arizona called and we had a good long conversation. Everythings going well for him.
No, seriously I am thankful for our hospitals who do everything possible to keep us in good health. But never go there expecting to catch up on your rest. It will not happen. My son and my better half were as tired as I was. They were with me throughout the days. The others were on the phone. I told them not to come. The traffic is terrible and you walk for miles after you get into a parking deck. I was crammed in the room with another patient and to even get their equipment to the bed, nurses had to move everything out of the way. Nurses have a hard life.
My room mate was one of a kind (I hope) She could do nothing but find fault. She had people in filing complaints against the nurses. They were all nice to me and doing what was necessary. I just felt sorry for them having to put up with all the hullabaloo. I didn’t see or hear anything they were doing wrong. It seemed to me they went overboard to placate the woman. She was leaving the hospital just after me and I know they were happy to see the last of that one.
Okay, I’m going to get my last medicine of the day and go to bed for a good nights sleep. I hope all my triond friends have a good night, too. Everyone take care and I’ll see you again tomorrow. Your friend, Ruby
