It’s not hard to take care of orchids. Just to remember, flowering plants with large thin leaves require cold temperatures compared to thick and fleshy leaves. Apart from this, the amount of sunlight needed by a plant and the air circulation around it must also be considered. Most orchids should be protected against the sun. The over exposure can make them dry and can potentially burn them.
Another good characteristic of orchids which makes it easy to be handled is that, most orchids are pest free. Therefore, no insects can potentially harm the plant. As for watering, regular watering is not necessary. On an average, watering the plant every 4-5 days 10-15 days during summer and winter is enough. Also be careful in removing the dead and dried flowers which are still attached to plant. Once the inflorescence is affected, it can harm the whole plant.
