How to Start Fire with Ice

Youtube can be a very educational tool for children of all ages and adults.  Initially, it was space like Facebook where mostly the public would use it to post home videos and find helpful as a venue to make public opinion. Both Youtube and Facebook are still invaluable for those experiences, but they also have become social media tools that the business world can no longer live without for marketing and advertising.

How to videos on Youtube are popular and informative.  Many are very professional and when it comes to cooking videos on Youtube, sometimes you would think it were a documentary they are so professional produced.  Another value about videos on Youtube is the variation of not only informaiton, but the variation of the same subject matter.  Put in how to bake a  pound cake on the site and you will find dozens of variations on how to and flavors, such as citrus pound cake or vanilla.

How to start a fire with ice is one of the most creative videos that I found fascinating and maybe you will also.  As explained by the author of the 3 minute video, tim3jones, he says to look for a piece of ice taht is crystal clear.  The piece he use is about 4 inches thick.  He teaches that what you are trying to do is make it into a magnifying glass. You need to carve and chip at the ice until it is round. When the piece of ice is ready, it will look see thru.  The piece that tim3jones uses as an example, he holds angled to the sun to the point of view of the camera glistens in a spectrum. Holding it ground level so that the sun shines through the middle of the perfectly rounded piece of ice, a loud spark can be heard as it lights pieces of leaves he has on the ground. Take a look at the video below to view this naturalist in action showing how to start a fire with ice.
