How Refurbishing Older Articles Can Help to Earn More

I just spent two hours going through my old articles and pimped them in order to increase my views.

Oh yes, I just spent two hours with all kind of pimping and refurbishing. I am using Triond for a year now and with over 100 articles and some photos on Picable I have a lot of stuff that I myself would rather consider to be "junk" as of today's quality standards (my own standards).

So I picked many older articles and this is what I did:

* added more informative text
* corrected spelling mistakes
* inserted images and helpful links
* added a "Read more:" section at the bottom with up 5 of my related articles or photos

You might be asking yourself now, why I went through this "ordeal" and invested so much time in something that might not help. I mean, it could be seen as pretty useless as the articles are one year old and no one is taking a look at them.
And THAT is wrong!

There are still people taking a look at those articles, but not from my Triond friend list. Those are the people who come here from search engines or from related content. And to draw those people to your older works, is the most important thing if you want to earn residual income!

The "Read more", "More from the author" or "For your reference" is the most important source of viewers who are interested in a topic due to the headline. For example: You have written many cooking recipes. If you do not add links, people will read your recipe, maybe leave a comment and leave the site to move on. When you add link to other recipes, the chances are extremely high that readers think "Oh, that sounds interesting!" and click on the link! That generated one more view for you and who knows how many will follow!

Therefore, do not dare to not add reference links to your work *lol*

The second effect affects Google, Yahoo, Bing and other search engines. They also judge texts by how "interesting" they are. As search engines send bots, the bots do not judge like humans do. Bots are programmed to look out for pictures and videos. They also detect good structure, e.g. usage of paragraphs and headlines.

So, what do you think will be better rated in the eye of a bot? A plain simple "boring" text all written in one paragraph without any media, or the same text nicely outlined with headlines, paragraphs, lists and "colourful sweets" like photographs and videos?
I bet you know the answer already!

And in addition to that, every update and improvement does also alarm these bots to visit your site again. This does not mean that you should do this daily. Oh no, I guess there are penalties for spam. But you should try to improve your work every few weeks or months. See what you can update and do it!

With these tips, I am sure you can increase your views on your articles and photos on Picable. Just tweak them to add photos and Youtube videos and you get a brand new article for almost no cost. It surely pays off!
