Internet gives a great deal to the lifestyle of the 20th century.  To some, it is already a part of lifestyle where being online is not only a luxury but already a must to live with especially if your work requires you to keep you connected.  If there is a big advantage there is always a disadvantage where internet threats are almost unavoidable.  Internet security sholud always comes first to online users, here are some tips to keep you protected:

Keep it habit to change password regularly either for personal email address or password on social media networking sites.

E-mail or chat hackers are very rampant, if you receive a message that has a different tone of conversation, be doubtful and confirm the situation through mobile or other social media site where you are both members.

As much as possible, do not use public computers such as in net cafe. If you will use other computer especially on public, be aware of  keyloggers which are threat to privacy. A keylogger is a small piece of software or spyware that logs all the computer keystrokes you made that records all e-mail, instant messages, and website you visit. These keylogs can be sent to a third party recipient.

Never give personal details online including social security details and money matters, if cannot be avoided ask the recipient to delete your message one copied.

Consider installing a firewall or internet virus spam defender.

Separate personal email address from other online accounts. Avoid using your personal e-mail on various websites to avoid receiving spam or unwanted emails.

Do not let the children unattended when using the computer and monitor their online activities. If you are using the same computer, they may click unwanted links which can carry a computer virus

Very nice tips. Just to add, no matter what anti-virus, firewall, etc we use, it is us and our vigilance that will keep us safe in the use of the internet.

I notice that someone I know who uses public internet spaces seems to get their email hacked all the time. Almost always I start getting strange emails with their name attached when they leave those places. I say close out and recheck to close out again. Even use the link on the side by if your name is there to see if it opens any account you used again. smh shame. Thanks for the informative suggestions
