If you are a web content writer or a freelancer then you know all to well the importance of promoting your content so that it gets viewed and you get paid. You can write the perfect article that ranks well on the search engines but you might not get a lot of page views. It is imperative that you use social networking, back linking, and other methods to promote your content and get optimal traffic and ultimately advertisement revenue.
Here are several ways you can effectively promote your web content:
1) Social Networking
Social Networking is the best way to promote your content and get optimal views. You should use well known social networking sites such as Facebook or Twitter. The best way for you to market on social networking sites is to create a separate account or page for your content. For instance, if you write for pay to write websites, such as Knoji, Bukisa, Hubpages, Suite 101, or other sites then you need to create a Facebook fan page using your author name that you use on those other sites; therefore, it is crucial that you use the same author name for every site you work with. When you publish an article simply post it on your fan page. Some of the websites I mentioned, gives you the option to have your content automatically posted on your Facebook or Twitter page when you publish an article.
2) Back linking
Back linking is simply providing a link back to your website or blog. The main reason why individuals write for pay to write websites such as Triond, Suite101, or Hubpages is to back link to their own blog or website. Back linking is very simple; all you have to do is create an account at any of the websites I mentioned or one of your choice and get your profile up and running and include a link to your blog or website. However, you still need to produce content on those sites so that individuals could find your writers profile. Remember when you link to your blog or website, the link needs to be hyper linked so that it looks more neat and professional rather than giving the raw link. This is also your opportunity to link back to your Facebook or Twitter fan page so that you could garner likes and gain followers.
If you are surfing the web and you read an article or blog post that you like and you feel that maybe one of your articles are relevant to the article you are reading, then you can include a link in the comments section. However, you should be careful with this for some website spam filters flag links in comments as spam.
3) Online Advertising
Online advertising can be an effective way to market your writing and reach more people; it usually works best when you have your own website or blog. The easiest way to advertise online is to work with a large tech company such as Google or Facebook. You might say to yourself, "I can't afford online advertising." One thing you need to know about internet advertising is that it can be very affordable. With web advertising you usually pay a few cents per click and you set a daily, monthly, or weekly budget pertaining to how much you want to pay for advertising. Usually with Google or Facebook, you would receive up to $100 in advertising credits so that you could see if you would get a return on your investment before paying for advertisement. When advertising with Google, your website would be advertised throughout the world wide web so you reach a larger audience.
