This is a poem about a precious gift, its loss, and the hope of finding it. There are times when we become emotionally attached to something we once had because we value that thing so much. It gives us pain when we realize that the thing we value is gone and can no longer be found. May this poem touch your heart.
A Special Present
Once I had a heart pendant
A birthday present from my mom
A yellow topaz colored stone
That tells I'm November born
I strung it with a chain of gold
Then with all smiles I put it on
In front of a mirror then I stood
What a lovely thing it was to behold
I only wore it once
But now it's totally gone
I tried to look around
But my effort proved none
Win My Heart
What's left now is a memory
Of this pendant that was dear to me
It broke my heart that it made me cry
Now I'm wiping my tears dry
I wish that this precious gift
A heart shaped pendant that I received
With so much love that came with it
Would soon be found to forever keep
Now that this pendant is out of sight
I pray each day that someone will find
And whoever could be that lucky guy
Will surely win this heart of mine
