Happy Fourth of July 2012 (Poetry)

On July 4th, the United States of America celebrates its independence, stemming from the official signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th 1776. It has been an interesting road with positives and negatives. While the nation has not been at its best in present times, regardless Americans step back and take a look at the day that is, Independence Day, the Fourth of July, as we celebrate America's freedom.

Happy Fourth of July 2012

Over two hundred and thirty six years ago, the Founding Fathers signed the Declaration of Independence.
Generations have passed since then.
But we have stood forward, through the good times and the bad in this great nation.
All of the time has passed, was it a good ride, your opinion may depend.
If you are citizen of this nation.
You really feel the need to take the good with the bad.
Yet, we feel a fondness of our heart in some small way.
There is no imitation

We have been driven to sorrow.
Yet there has been much glory.
A lot of culture has been borrowed.
That is quite frankly the story.
Since the day that declaration was born.
Everything lead up to this.
Thoughts and opinions of a diverse people, sometimes often being torn.
Yet there is a feeling of internal bliss.

Through wars, through struggles, through the fights to stand up what is right.
We have aimed to do what we can to fight, not perfect, but we are right here.
Just remember of the struggles to get to this point, on this Fourth of July Night.
Not all has been bad, there is something to cheer.
The day has new opportunities and new chances.
All was built a dream.
Sometimes it seems like we have gone through many despicable dances.
We have somehow survived, despite it all, it does seem.

Enjoy some fireworks, eat a hot dog.
Remember despite those in charge, bungling with the ball.
We cannot let us be obscured in a rage fog.
We must fight along it all.
Think of those who fought our rights.
Thank all of those who managed to set a great example.
Above it all, despite all of the flaws, there have been many good fights.
Have a great day.
Do not cower before the fright.
Just listen to the stories a nation has to say.
Have a happy Fourth of July and good night.
