God, Why Have You Forsaken Me?

As Jesus hung on that cruel cross for the sins of the entire world, he experienced the most shame and suffering possible. He was totally rejected by mankind, spit on, slapped, injured, and brutally beaten beyond recognition. Those who knew him personally, weren't able to recognize Jesus, because of how badly he had been battered up and abused. When his mouth was dry, in need of a little bit of water, Christ was given a sponge filled with vinegar. Yet, this degradation and all the pain he was feeling, wasn't what weighed on his heart the most. For the first time ever, Jesus was experiencing separation from his heavenly Father! Having God turn away from him, inflicted the worst agony Jesus had ever felt.

It's hard to compare this degree of suffering, to those who refuse to accept the Lord into their life. This is a place of total emptiness, grabbing and reaching for everything and anything that will bring just an ounce of satisfaction. Every person is born with a God shaped hole on the inside of their heart. Life is spent stuffing things into that empty place, trying to fill it up with something that will bring contentment, peace, and joy in this world. Yet, whatever we put in that God shaped hole, whether it's money, sex, success, education, a high-standing or position, fame, fortune, none of these things can ever bring us what we are all in need of. The only things that can fill up that space inside of you, is GOD HIMSELF! Before a person gets to this point of realization, their life will always fall short, never able to attain complete fulfillment. So, instead of continuing on this path, constantly searching for happiness, allow the Lord to have his way in your life. Let him fill up that God shaped hole inside your heart and find out what it is to have a fullness of joy! There's nothing else out there, people! Believe me I know, because I've been there and done that. No matter what I tried to manufacture happiness, nothing worked. Until I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into my heart and life, there was no joy to be found, anywhere else. Now, Jesus has filled my heart with HIS own presence, an everlasting love that never leaves me, nor does it forsake me!
