The Frustrations of being an online writer

Hi! I write online, have been writing ever since the start of this year. I write with one aim: that someday I can proudly say I am earning my living from writing online. When will the day come? Will it ever? Often I wonder...

I am learning more(and more) about SEO and finding keywords, Google Adsense, and how to promote your columns, with every passing day. But sometimes, I feel it takes so much of time and effort and the payment is rarely guaranteed! And when it comes it is so little!

Besides, every idea  it seems has already been written on before. There is already a stunning variety and depth of information available online,  so much that I don't think there is really any topic under the sun(and beyond the solar system) that is still left unexplored on the world wide web.

And yet, there is so much of emphasis on originality that it  can be quite bewildering! To say the very least. And even if you do get that rare, exceptional, never written about before, topic inspiration...given the blatant plagiarism that occurs, would you really want to share it  on the web? for a cent?

Few writers online use their real identity(and even if they do use it,  the global nature of the web, makes it difficult to keep track of whose who?). Under the guise of anonymity, people will feel freer to express themselves, this can have benefits to creative expression as well as be detrimental to it!

Further much of what we write online is in one way or the other biased by what google will think of it!? Is there any freedom of speech, in every real sense of the term(I would say not!). And if you are writing for writing sites, then you definitely have to abide by their guidelines.

To surmise, at times there seems to be so little gain from writing online...even if it used merely for reasons of creative expression, that the whole process can become quite frustrating! At times like this you are likely to doubt the  very concept and it's functionality.
