Freelancer.com Affiliate Network Program Review - You Must Understand this
Just as any site that relies on user logins, freelancer.com has an affiliate network which pays the affiliates based on the work.
But the proper misconception for the main affiliates here is that they believe that they will get paid for lifetime. But when you read properly the affiliate page of freelancer.com, you will get to know the truth that the affiliates get paid only for a time period of 90 days.
That means that if the persons you have referred does not earn any sort of income from freelancer.com during those 3 months, you are not getting anything out of it. So referring your friends and relatives to freelancer.com will most probably end up as a sheer waste of time.
Anyone joining freelancer.com will at least take 1 week minimum to get used to the site usage unless you are already an expert.
And then to post new projects or bid on the site will not be easy for a new comer. He will take minimum 6 months to get his reputation from the site and get good reviews which ultimately get you proper projects.
So all in all an affiliate earning from freelancer.com is not as charming as it sounds. Take note of the fact that freelancer.com had the system of lifetime earnings from referrals until a new management took over.
So the best way for the freelancer.con site to improve their user base and value their affiliates will be by going back to the old idea of lifetime affiliate commissions. This will get the affiliate to work harder for the freelancer.com and site can get better along with some profit for the affiliates.

I agree to all your points. An affiliate requires atleast 4 months to get used to the site and to start bagging projects. They hardly earn anything in the first three months. I notice my referalls have now started making some income but im not eligible to receive any commission for their earning. I dont understand what made freelancer bring this new policy. May be a greedy management. Really feeling fleeced and deceived at this point of time. Hope freelancer.com does something about this issue.
Good article. Keep up the good work.

This is really great to see an official feedback from the freelancer.com. I agree to you of the factors regarding freelancer.com you have raised in your comment.
But the only factor that i have an issue with is the system of 90 days affiliate earnings.Practically it does not seem to be a reasonable or generous affiliate program.raising the 90 days limit for the freelancer.com affiliate program would be a strong step in this regard and i hope you consider this request.
This official feedback is worthless. Those guys just copy paste them if they see people complaining. It is a pathetic attempt to save shady businesses' reputation.
