Discouraged and frustrated in life? Is your life a burden with unsolved problems and pressures? Do worries, disasters and disappointments torture you? Try these five simple ways.

Are you worried about your job, about your state of affairs, about your nagging or unfaithful partner, or about the unchanging circumstances that keep troubling you? Is the worsening economic condition frighten you about your future days? Politicians just point their fingers at each other and nothing changes. Criminals are prospering day by day and the world is turning more and more violent. There is more bad news in the world to hear than the encouraging words. Is the world turning worse and evil is gaining more victory?
Do not be discouraged. It has been the same from the beginning. But there is always encouragement readily available for you, if you look for it.
Yes there are powerful steps that you can take to encourage yourself. Hold onto hope and avoid your discouragement.

The great power that always encourages you

Encouraging words always fill you with hope and courage. Remember the eternal words of Jesus which he was always saying, “Do not be afraid.” Hold onto his final words, “I am with you always, to the close of the age." (Matthew 28:20). Have before you his encouraging figure saying, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30)

Five simple ways to avoid discouragement

1) Read encouraging words often

There are many verses in scriptures with encouraging words. You can find them in the scriptures of all religions. Read them often. Build up your courage. Keep some encouraging words before you.

2) Take a break from news

Nowadays people are more anxious to listen to world news often. It is quite depressing to read about violence, scandals, crimes, etc. which cover the modern media. They are the easy stories for them to get. Try to take a break from them and divert your attention to read some encouraging passages.

3) Do not be a couch potato

Modern lifestyle makes people sit more than moving around. Sedentary life makes you much discouraged and disappointed. Try to involve in activities that make you move around.

4) Attend community services

Community services or prayers can avoid your discouraging mood and keep you lively. At least sit together with your family members and involve in an encouraging conversation. family prayer( with lively words--not repeating some rote memory) can avoid your discouragement.

5) Do not think that spending money is the only charity activity. Your comforting words can encourage others and avoid your own discouragement. Do some help, which you can do, to others. Make others smile. It will definitely bring smile on your face also.
