Back in the day when you broke up with someone the only thing you had to worry about was bumping into your ex in public when your were having a bad day and not looking your best.
However thanks to sites like Facebook now when you break up with someone you have the added option of torturing yourself by looking at photos and reading status updates of how happy and loved up your ex is with his new girlfriend weeks/months later. Meanwhile your still heartbroken over the loss and would do anything to get them back.
I know a lot of people who say they constantly check their ex’s Facebook profile to see if they are seeing someone new, surely thats got to hurt more than hearing it from someone else and least when someone tells you you don’t have to actually see it. With Facebook however the newly happy couple stares you right it the face, mocking your torment.
With all the added pain why do we then not simply block our ex from our Facebook page? We’re obsessed by what we cannot have and need to know that our ex cannot be happy without us, even though in most cases thats not true.
