Not all games are about doing things in the virtual world on Facebook. And one of the more cerebral ones is called Word Twist. This is essentially a vocabulary building game. The more words you know the better the chances of you mastering the word board. A group of jumbled letters is made available to you and you have to find the maximum number of words in the set.

There is a single large word that is made up of all the letters given to you as well. If you manage to find that word you are given a bumper bonus in the points. Other wise the three letter words get one point, the four letter words get two points, and so on and so forth. So the more words you can unscramble the higher your score is. Again there is the option of playing with your friends.

When you start a game you can nominate a few friends whom you would like to play with. Then they get notifications when they log into Facebook next. So you can compare scores after they have finished playing to see who won. There can be fierce competition amongst friends with the same range of vocabulary. So don't get surprised if you find that you are being virtually nudged by Word Twist to come and play.

There is the option of choosing the number of rounds you would like to play and the time given per round. The default settings are at three rounds of two minutes each. Although the longest game that I have played was with seven rounds of two minutes each. One point of convenience is that after you finish a round and don't have time to play the next one, you can quit and come back to it later.

An option which makes it even more addictive as you know there are rounds waiting for you to complete as you do your work. Still you also have benefits such as learning new words. At the end of each round all the possible words that could have been made are displayed. If you wish to see the meaning of the new word in the list all you have to do is click on the first alphabet of the word.
