Farmville: Mastery Points for Crops. One of the later features added to the game of Farmville is the Mastery Points that you get for harvesting crops. The mastering can begin after you have reached level nine. Then you may plant the same crop repeatedly till you cover the three levels of mastery for the particular crop. Each level of mastery is marked with a star under the picture of the crop in the market place.
In my case I have mastered the crops of Rice and Soya bean in the first level. So the first star on both the crops has become golden. At each time that I harvested the crop and reached the mastery level in Farmville, I was awarded 25 points of experience and 500 extra coins. So I assume that with the second level of mastery you will be awarded even more coins and experience points. And with the third level there will be even higher benefits.
Since I am a regular at Mafia Wars as well, I feel that this new addition has been inspired by the parallel of mastering a job level three times in Mafia Wars. Each time you complete mastery of all jobs of a level you are given an experience bonus and a special boost that will help your skill points in Mafia Wars. Plus when you have mastered the job level three times, you get an additional reward from the Godfather.
The Farmville Mastery points seem to have been designed with a similar view in mind. Only trouble is that the boosts like armor or weapons given in Mafia Wars can not be provided in Farmville, so the reward comes in terms of coins and experience being enhanced. It is not going to make too much of a difference in the way you plant or harvest crops.
Yes there is the psychological kick of having mastered a crop, but that is about all there is to it. Reminds me of a friend of mine wishing he could grow guns in Farmville to use in Mafia Wars. Now that would truly be virtual entertainment. Till then we must be satisfied with the points and coins that we earn on our virtual Farm on Farmville.

Great article….. In Mastery points for crops its Yellow melon which gives you maximum profit both in terms of coins and experiences……but remember Yellow melon takes 4 days and you need to be on level 33 or above to plant it…..but if you just want to get all the three stars in any crop, go for artichokes (4 days) & wheat (3 days) and after harvesting 320 artichokes and 375 wheat you would have got 3 stars in both the crops mastery….. and the experiences you get from mastery points might also help you move to higher levels quickly……for more details on how to move to higher levels quickly read the following article http://expertscolumn.com/content/farmville-guide-get-quick-experiences-f... and right now i am on level 37.......
