Zynga, the makers of Farmville and Mafia Wars have come up with a new offering in the free online gaming applications on Facebook. This time its a game in a restaurant. The plot is that you are a Chef in a virtual Cafe and you cook up interesting stuff from a cook book and then serve it to customers with the help of your friends. Again your friends can be of help in this game, making it interactive.

The modalities of the game are similar to the ones in Farmville and Mafia Wars. You can choose the waiter in your cafe from among your friends. As you go higher up in the game you get to hire more friends as waiters. Even the cook book recipes keep increasing as you go higher and higher up in the game. Initially a basic set of four items is available to you to choose from. Then the menu expands with each level milestone you cross.

You have virtual money available to buy the raw ingredients for the dish. Then once you cook and serve it you keep gaining coins as each person comes to your cafe and eats. If you forget to serve it then the dish spoils on the stove. The cutest virtual flies start hovering over it. Naturally the money vested in the dish is gone. So you do learn a lesson in financial planning as well as having fun playing.

When you have earned enough money with all your cooking and serving you can use the spare cash you have to remodel your cafe. You can add more tables and chairs. Give the chef an extra stove or serving counter. Put in some flowers or lampshades into the area, and even expand the Cafe into a larger one. It is rather like life, and the games does teach you about the consequences of your actions.
