I have been writing for the online writing site Triond for several years now until I was introduced to expertscolumn by a friend, who said making money from expertscolumn is fast. But I now see that he was so wrong. In expertscolumn you get a lot of views to your articles but you get very little money in return!
In Triond, I earned good money online from my articles although the views there were not as much as the views I’m presently getting on expertscolumn. Triond pays an average of $1.50 CPM i.e. you the writer gets paid $1.50 for every thousand views that your articles generate. With Triond you can even earn more money but all in all the average is the above figure per thousand views to your article. So it therefore means that if your articles generate 10,000 views you get $15 from Triond or even more! This is the very good thing about Triond; they pay their writers extremely well. So making money with Triond is extremely easy. The only problem with Triond is that they are presently facing very low traffic on Google search.
Let us take a look at expertscolumn; writers get a lot of views here but sadly these views do not translate to money. No one knows for sure how much expertscolumn is paying per thousand views. I just noticed this shocking thing when I checked the number of views I got since my last payout and compared these views to the present amount of money in my account. Believe me I was really shocked.
Since my last payment to date I have generated 12,000 views to my articles, which have only translated to $7.76 can you believe that? Had I had these views on Triond I would have been getting somewhere in the region of $18.00. I am very shocked at the game expertscolumn is playing with writers. How can you pay such amount for over 12,000 views! This is less than half of what Triond is paying its writers for crying out loud!
I have now noticed that in as much as we get a lot of views here on expertscolumn these views translate to very very poor earnings that are extremely discouraging. The way I see it expertscolumn is paying around $0.50 to $0.65 CPM which is for every thousand views that your articles generate you get paid $0.60. That is too bad for a site like expertscolumn. Expertscolumn needs to step up and make their writers happy. Many writers are here to make money online and that is what expertscolumn should know. I for one I’m here purposely to make money from my writing and the earnings that I am presently getting for my articles is not helping at all. Writers need to be encouraged, with encouragement comes more quality articles for the site.
I have not given up hope yet on making money with expertscolumn. I will keep writing more and see how things go. If it keeps on going like this then of course I’d be forced to advice myself and send my articles elsewhere, and I guess I will not be the only one to do that. I know a lot of writers can relate with me on this one.

I don't think that any content farm site will ever pay well. They can't afford to, as the only revenue is from advertisers and they aren't willing to pay much knowing that very few views translate into clicks on their adverts and ultimately into real sales of their products. The only media which can pay a living wage for content are those which charge subscribers directly, such as the old-fashioned printed press and magazines. They're very hard to break into, though.
So glad to hear I am not the only one having this problem. I hope ExpertsColumn will fix this issue asap!
That is not entirely true... I have been paid probably around $0.40 each day and my account has been left idle for about 5 days. I have received between 300-400 views while idle per day. $0.40 x 2.5 = $1.00, so most of the time, you receive around $1.00 per 1000 views, not the advertised $1.50, which kinda sucks.
But... I would rather make a bit less than deal with that extremely rude and disrespectful Triond staff. I am a professional worker. I have sold articles on sites such as Constant Content and ezinearticles, both top of the line services that require top of the line work with no mistakes. Yet, I submitted 10 articles to Triond and they rejected all but 1... All of these articles were 500 words, no grammatical errors. Sure, I my be making a bit less here. But I supplement with my blog ad revenue and the articles I sell on Constant Content. Who needs Triond?
R. Turk, I am really surprised that expertscolumn is paying that much. Then I really have to send the admin a complaint because I am earning no where around that for my articles. There must be something really wrong with their system! I can't believe this! Meaning expertscolumn's system is cheating me. I'd have no problem if they were paying me $1.00 per 1000 views, but here is a case where they are paying me like $0.60 per 1000 views. I have proof because I had over 12,000 views and got only $7.77. So do the maths and you'll see that I'm not wrong. I have to contact their admin about this right now! Anyway thank you very much for letting me know this. Now I have to fight for my right! Thanks once again.
If this kind of issue prevail. This will be Experts Column eventual downfall. $7.77 for 12000 views is quite not fair. This is greatly discouraging for dedicated Experts Column writers who work hard for the hope that they will be paid fairly. I hope this issue will be resolved as soon as possible.
Just be polite about it. Nikhil is a good guy, and he will take care of everything that needs to get done. However, I also get bonus for referrals from my blog as well. If you refer people to expertscolumn.com and they make an account, then you can make 10% more on each article or something like that.
But definitely do it. However, how do you advertise your articles? and do you use link shorteners?
I mainly advertise my articles via Facebook and Reddit. I also tried twitter once but it was not the best so I gave up. No I don't use link shorteners. But I've heard they can be very effective in terms of advertisement. I also depend heavily on expertscolumn's natural traffic. Thanks once again R. Turk. I will surely contact the admin for them to take a closer look at this anomaly.

I should say that if you want to make real money online, you should try some other site that's more reliable. The main factor which overwhelms every other stuff is 'organic visits' and for that apart from the content, the presentation of the site is also important. Triond and Expertscolumn, both are primitive! I bear no grudge, but yea! Expertscolumn started in 2009 and Triond much before that. But the objective of online writing is to increase readership and based on trust!
I once use to write for Hubpages, where I earned an average of $3-$4 per 1000 impressions. But, the better fact was, I used to generate about 500+ pageviews for 60 articles with some little knowledge of 'keyword analysis'.
Facevalue, search engine traffic is the main thing, make sure the website look is presentable enough. I don't think Expertscolumn, fall in this catagory, especially because of the wide 160x600 skyscaper on the left, and infolinks too. They really doesn't look good!
Finally, content should be unique (published in one website only) with a minimum of 500 words. Although Google loves 700 words! With 400 articles we can expect 500 visits and those 400 articles can also provide us with 8000 visits per day. And, yea it's not impossible, trust me! I have seen newbies and lame people like us getting above 20 views/per article average mark!

Sorry for the delay in replying you back. "Original content" is going to be the top priority for any writing site to survive in the long run. As, I sense some major changes coming forth, at least that's why Google is saying. A strict no to back links and now 'Google's Knowledge graph' for refining search.
However, we are starting up with our own revenue sharing site shortly, which will indeed be unique from other websites, since we will be having direct interaction with our authors. What's more is we be having the affiliate section too. Apart from adsense, we will run ads from our partner networks which will increase the ecpm rates.The author just need to write quality content and posts, which are more than 700 words for certain topics. A higher world limit indicates that authors have taken great effort in writing the piece with in-dept information. They must be insightful and out of experience.
We are excepting to offer a revenue of $3-$4 to our writers within the first two-three months of the site being launched. However, we will be inviting authors after we have about 300 posts by us to check how google index our site. Till now, things have been positive, and we have managed to creep in page 1 and page 2 for some moderately popular keywords.
The reason we will be able to beat the competition and get index faster is mainly because of the strategy we are employing to run our site. If you look forward to try us, we request you to wait for another 10 days. By that time we will get the results of the beta testing. We are more than happy to accept authors from all over the world to enrich the diversity.

$3 to $4 per thousand view of our articles would be great! Of course as a writer, I'd love to try any writing site that offers good pay and traffic for my articles. I'll be waiting anxiously for this big opportunity!
