I am actually quite starting to like Experts Column, for various reasons, including the face that earnings are updated throughout the day, submission of content is fairly easy and straightforward, and that you can request earnings at various times during the month.
However one thing that lets Experts Column down greatly, in my opinion, is the fact that we are unable to add any visual content to our articles. This can put some readers off, as visual content can be the difference between keeping a reader, or not.
I understand that there may be issues with people plagerising images, and I understand that. In that case though, maybe it would be worth Experts Column, creating an image gallery that content contributors can use, so that there is no risk of plagerism.
Other than plagerism being a reason not to allow users to add images to content, I'm not sure what other reson there could be.
Of course, it may be that I am missing something somewhere and we are allowed to add images. If that is the case, please add your comments below.
In terms of adding videos, I don't see why we can't as YouTube provides an embedding code, and if the video creator doesn't want their video putting on other sites, they have the option of disabling this feature, so I'm curious as to why Experts Column doesn't provide a way of adding video into content.
I believe that with this two simple features in the text editor, Experts Column will not only become more appealable to potential readers, but to potential contributors too.
I am still familiarising myself with the site, and haven't found a place to really discuss this with others, so I would encourage people to add their comments below.
Thanks for reading and If I learn more about the reasoning behind this, I will add further information.

I want to show my on photos, but i can do it this way. what I do is publish the same article on wikinut with my photos. that makes both sites happy and me too.
seems like a winwin.
I wonder whether the EC site admins are worried about the extra storage capacity they'd need on their servers. After all, a single image (even when compressed) can take up several times the space of all the text in an article in terms of file size. I get the impression that EC operates on a shoestring budget and might well be tight for server space.
As for an image gallery, that's not a compromise that would interest me since I want to be able to use photographs I've taken myself.
