It is said that 'educating women is educating the family'. In a country like ours where at one call of Gandhiji women left' Purdah' and came out to fight against britishers, satirically females are left out from being educated. also in a nation where goddesses are worshipped it is difficult to digest the prejudices against the fair sex.
Woman generally do household work. However, a large number of women have started working outside their families to earn more money in order to live a better life. their earnings like men are determined on the basis of education and skills. Isn't it heartening that a women is leading the country as the president. the UPA chief, lok sabha speaker and the opposition leader are managing the affairs of the country.
In a medieval history we read about brave women like Razia sultana, Jhansi Ki Rani, Ahilya bai etc. who with their bravery and determination changed the course of the history.
Modern India also saw the women like Sania Mirza, Kalpana Chawala etc. who have made the country proud. Nearly half of the population is of women and to think of 100% literacy without educating them is near to impossible. As a solution Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and CBSE scholarship to single girl child are doing good work.Education of girls has been a high priority with the Government of India. The National commitment to provide free and compulsory education to all children in the 6- 14 years age group is now a Fundamental Right of every child in India after the passing of the Constitution (86th Amendment) Act in December, 2002. People are realising the value of education for girls but there are many who don't realise its value. So it's time for them also to realise that what opportunity they are losing for their girl child and it's time to send them to school and make them also educated so that they can feel proud on their parents.
