Do You Follow Word By Word While Reading?

Reading is an art! Some people can read much faster than others! I think during our childhood our teachers used to ask us to read a passage loudly in the class in front of all the students. This was perhaps done to train a student how to read properly and in a fast and effective way!
 

In one of the researches in the recent past, it has been established that most people skip many words while reading. They concentrate more on the key words to get the abstract of the matter they are reading!
 

I never paid any attention about this aspect before reading this research article! After reading this article I realized that it is very true and I am also one of those people who are doing so while reading!
 

I also found that we can easily identify the words even they are spelt wrong if first and last letters are there. This has been again proved scientifically that many of us do have this skill of recognition or perception of the words spelt incorrectly.
 

Do you follow word to word while reading a text or skip some words concentrating more on the key words?
