Why don’t you believe in rebirth or reincarnation? I also once did not believe in rebirth. But when I got older and wiser (as one gets older, one naturally becomes wiser, agreed?) I thought a lot about life, death and rebirth. I found that there is no reason in not believing in rebirth. We can find enough logic to believe in reincarnation, if we think freely without any bias or prejudice about it.
Hinduism and Buddhism say that there is rebirth or reincarnation. I also think there can be rebirth. It is not because I am a Hindu. I don’t accept everything my religion preaches. I accept those points that do not sound illogical to me only. That is the peculiarity of this religion. You can remain a Hindu and still believe only what you like about Hinduism. You are given unlimited freedom regarding this.
Earlier in my life, I did not believe in reincarnation. But when I got older, there was a change in my way of thinking. I began to think deeply about the presence of Soul, rebirth and such matters. I asked myself, “Who am I?” Definitely not the body others perceive as me, that is Pradeep Kumar. It is the SOUL inside this body that is my SELF.
There are hundreds of thousands of people around me. “Why this SOUL that resides in this body (which is known as me) did not enter some other body I see around me and make that body MYSELF instead?” Or “Why this SOUL that is my SELF did not go to some far away country and enter a white body or a black body and make it MYSELF?”
It is only a chance (or is there any rules about this?) that this SOUL entered this body (which is known as Pradeep Kumar now) and made it MYSELF. It could have entered some other BODY and made it MYSELF. Then myself would have been a different myself. So it is the SOUL that matters.
When one dies, only the body dies and decays. The SOUL goes out of the body and finds abode in some other body which is about to take birth. Then that body begins to think of it as MYSELF. This process goes on and on and I don’t know whether there will be an end to it.
I hope you get it now. It is difficult to understand but not impossible if you engage yourself in some serious thought.
Some of the reputed persons who lived here believed in rebirth. Thomas Huxley, the famous scientist, Professor Gust Stromberg, the famous Swedish astronomer, physicist and friend of Einstein, Professor Julian Huxley, the distinguished British scientist, the American industrialist Henry Ford were among them.

Very interesting concept. I am of two minds about it. Anything is possible. We can never be sure, but some things have happened in my life that gives me pause.
Though I have no firsthand experience in this, logical thinking points to the existence of the Soul and reincarnation. Thank you RUBYHAWK, for posting your valuable comment.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this article. I'm fascinated with the notion of rebirth. I believe in past lives. I figure there have to have been past lives that each individual has had, regardless of what one's religious beliefs are. Particularly when visiting a particular region or place for the first time and one has the feeling that he or she had been there before.
If one puts some serious thought on our being, he won't be able to challenge the existence of the Soul. More serious thought will reveal that the Soul is non-destructible, and it only changes its shell, the human body. Thank you Joanna, for posting your valuable opinion.
There is n o death. The death that happens is only a passage we have to go through to what I call Hereafter or rebirth. Our physical condition at rebirth will depend largely on what we did previously. Islam preaches this in details. Thank for sharing.
Thank you for the visit and the valuable comment.
When someone believes in something there is not always proof, that is the purpose of belief. There is much more out there than people perceive.
Rightly said Tanna. Thank you for the visit.
Thanks I will read your links sir. I too believed in rebirth when I read a book on this, I will mention the title when I remember it.
Thank you for the visit, Deepa. Do tell me name of the book when you get it.
I must say Sir, you have here touched upon the very core of the universal truth that we are not one but many at the same time. I understood it, years back, while reading a book and then could not comprehend it years later (don't know why) but now as I read it I find you've again made it very clear. We, the soul, the self, the Individual Soul, is actually the Myself which is residing in all bodies, differences appear with appearances and knowledge of location, people, family, culture, rituals etc etc. So it's actually we being many at the same time, same place. The theory of reincarnation is only one possible way to bring us to this greater truth.
What you said is very true, Aparajitha. Reasonable thinking will point to the existence of the Soul. Thank you for visiting my page and leaving your comment.
I definitely believe in rebirth, or reincarnation, because I experienced many instances of deja vu as a child!
Thank you my friend, for expressing your view on the subject.
hi pradeep, a lady i know had the memory of her past in her childhood. at the age of 5 she used to tell about her previous life's parents and family in some other town. the family members took her to the place she told and amazingly it was all true.
such was the only instance and since then i have been a believer
There are a lot of things of which science has no clue at all. Thank you for visiting my page and commenting.

It is a belief. Nothing can be proved. Thank you for leaving your comment.
Well. I'll say this. Must be something after this life. Can't imagine that it can't be. So either way you look at it, it's a type of rebirth when we give up our human form
Thank you. Your comments are much appreciated.
