The Different Layout and Preparation in Planting Tree

Planting trees should be done systematically. Tress should be planted in an arranged manner for several reasons.

The arrangement of tress gives way to the equal distribution of heat and light; it gives way to the equal distribution of the amount of nutrients that could be taken by the tress from the soil; it allows to save more space of land; it shows uniformity and it allows easy access from place to place specially in the time of harvest or logging.

There are different systems that are most commonly used in the preparation of soil for planting trees. Tree planters used to have these different systems in tree planting.

These systems are the Square system, the quincunx system, the rectangular system and the hexagonal or triangular system.

In the Square system, the trees to be planted are placed distanced apart; they are in a right angle to each other. A tree is also placed in the corner of each of the square. The Square system characterized easy spraying and cultivation; this system of planting trees is widely used by many tree and fruit growers.

In the Quincunx system, the method is similar to the square system; a semi-permanent tress is placed in the center of the square.

In the Rectangular system, the square system is being modified; it is done by making the rows farther apart from the east going to the west and from the north going to the south. These arrangement permits the trees to access the maximum amount of heat and light coming from the sun.

In the hexagonal or triangular system, the tress are placed in the same distance as the square system, however space are saved and more tress could be planted per hectare of land. In this system, the permanent trees are placed in the adjacent row and not in the opposite side of the first row.

The systematic planting of tress allows the tree planters to maximize the use of space for the trees to grow appropriately. It allows the tress to acquire the right amount of nutrients coming from the soil. It allows the trees to acquire the right amount of heat and light coming from the sun. It allows easy access as well as it provides uniformity in planting arrangement.

Aside from the above mentioned systems, special systems of planting trees could be developed depending upon the condition of the land where the trees are used to be planted.
