A DAUGHTERS LETTER TO HER FATHER
Dearest Dad,
Have I told you that you’re the most perfect man I’ve ever met?
The most perfect dad, a daughter could ever wish for? Well, yes you are. I could not imagine life without your teachings, wisdom and trainings. In you, I have learned to clean a fish, to love and care for plants, to nurture pets and care for them well. You have taught me the value of hard work, perseverance and faith in God; and even if you have not taught me, your life is a living testimony to it all.
I can vaguely remember when we went to church together, just you and I. We were walking towards the church and even while walking you would pop in some life lessons to be observed and learned.
When I got married with hesitations you were there. Supporting me, whatever decisions I will be making. You have made me see the positive and not so positive side of it. When I walked in the aisle in the church with you beside me, how I cried. I was so afraid of the future that awaits me with the man at the end of the altar.
When marriage turned upside down, which I expected it would be, you welcomed me in your home with outstretched arms. But I never heard any word from you speaking ill of my decisions.
When the most tragic part of my married life happened, and that was when my husband died, you were the first one I cried to. Not of pain but of the wondrous plan of God in my life. I have told you that I am amazed how God has planned every details of my life. That like a father, God’s plan for you is far more marvellous than what you have planned in your own life.
Thank you for all the life, values, experiences and trainings you have imparted with me. They have been my shield and armour in life.
From your imperfect daughter with all my love.
