It's a recipe to make Date and Nut Tarts (very easy to make and simple delicious!)

The interesting thing about this recipe is that the main ingredient is cake crumbs so you can use an old plain cake that has gone hard , and is no more enjoyable to eat and hence make a great use of it, instead of just throwing it away. I'll show you how.

You will need

2 cups of cake crumbs (you can also use bread crumbs)
3/4 cup of dates - chopped
3/4 cup of walnuts (cut to a good size)
3 eggs
3/4 cup of oil
3/4 cup of sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
4 drops of vanilla essence

How to make:

Preparation:

Take the eggs and separate out the egg whites from the yolks.
Beat egg whites until foamy.
Now you add sugar and yolk to the egg whites.
Beat some more.
When you see that the sugar is well mixed, add baking powder (1/2 teaspoon) and 4 drops of vanilla essence.
While doing this, slowly add oil as well. (3/4 cup)
Beat the mixture.
When the material has softened, stop the beater.
Now is the time to add crumbs, dates and walnuts.
Mix everything you have now, with a spoon.

Baking:

Pour your mixture into an oiled baking tin.
Bake for 25-30 minutes at 180 *C.
Your tarts are ready to eat!
Enjoy.

Note: The upper side of the baked tarts would look rough so for a more presentable look (if serving to guests), you can smoothen it using a knife.
