Dark need at night’s edge by Kresley Cole

Again Kresley Cole came back to amazing world of Lore (Immortal creatures) and this time with breath taking story about one of Wroth brothers, Conrad.
Conrad after his transition gave his brothers only troubles and fear. He had never forgiven Nikolai for changing him into vampire. For 300 years of his long life Conrad Wroth seek for blood and revenge. His madness became legendary among all Loreans. Wroth brothers decide to imprison troublemaker and give him last chance to heal his deluded mind. Conrad prison, chosen by brothers carefully is old gothic manor, Elancourt. Wroths don’t realise that their mad brother will be having company. The place is haunted by brutally murdered ballet dancer Neomi. Lonely and bored ghost show herself to mad vampire, looking for contact with any living being. Delude Conrad takes Noemi by one of his hallucinations. With time monster discovers that presence of dead dancer got very positive effect on his state of mind. With time Conrad and Noemi learn about their past and present times. Even in amazing world of Lore there is not more bizarre couple like ghost and vampire.
In “Dark needs at night’s edge” we meet “Old” friends from previous books: Nikolai, Murdoch, Sebastian Wroth (Vampires), Nix, Myst, Kaderin (Valkyries), Rydstrom, Cadeon (Rage demons).
The author points and analyses deluded mind of Conrad. We can find here elements such as guilt, crime, punishment and salvation. Also we can discover great longing for being physical again felt by Noemi.
Without a doubt Kresley Cole has to have great knowledge of psychology and also some knowledge about society in 1927. Without it Cole would be not able to create interesting character of Noemi, bored by her lonely existence with burning desire to know modern world.
Kresley Cole is on book market for some time. Some people could say that her books are mass market products. I do not agree. I find her creations authentic, interesting, dynamic and unique. Thanks to Cole’s book we can add to our life some sparkles and colours.
