I read a story in a magazine lately and I thought it was a perfect example of how online dating can go wrong, very wrong.

For most people online dating is harmless, just a chance to have fun and maybe meet someone new. But if you are not careful or extremely unlucky, online dating could be the worst decision you have ever made.

As this young woman found out the hard way. Marie Roach decided to joined at online dating site after struggling to meet someone she connected with. She thought it would be just a little harmless fun.

One man caught her attention, his name was Lee Hart. From there things moved very quickly. Then began emailing each other almost every day and just two short months later they decided to meet in person.

Lee showed a possessive very early on but Marie decided to ignore it, a decision which could have cost her life. Just six weeks after they meet, Lee violently attacked her and left her to die.

Marie isn’t the only victim of online romances gone wrong. People just so wrapped up in a fantasy that the often forget that they don’t really know the person that they are talking to. Just because you have been talking to someone online doesn’t mean you know them.
