Croatian athletics is not full of athletes, but we are a small country so it is understandable. But all our athletes have great results, the best evidence of that are Sandra Perkovic and Blanka Vlasic.
Sandra Perkovic is a Croatian athlete and Croatian champion in discus throwing. She is a senior Croatian record owner.
In Barcelona, 2010th at the European Championships she won a gold medal as the youngest finalist, with the throw of 64.67 meters in the last serie.
Also, in 2010. she won reward for the European Athletic rising star for 2010. year, and thus became the youngest winner of the award in the history of European championships with only 20 years.
This year, Sandra Perkovic in Varazdin, threw the disc to a length of 69.99 meters, setting a new Croatian record, the world’s best result of the season, and the best result over the past 12 years.
Blanka Vlasic is a Croatian athlete, record holder and current world champion (double) in the high jump, and has the second best result ever with a jump over 208cm, which was reached on Hanžeković meeting in Zagreb.
In the junior competition she was untouchable, twice a world champion, and the first time she jump over two meters on Hanžeković memorial in Zagreb with start number 200.
She won athletic awards Franjo Bucar in 2006. year.
In 2007. year she was best Croatian athlete, and she entered into history by the fact that other athletes have not received even one vote, 365 journalists voted for Blanka.
In 2010. she was declared for the best athlete of the world.
Blanka is the best of the best and she certainly marked the sport. These are her major accomplishments:
