Croatian junior national basketball team is the champion of Europe!

Here is new sucess of Croatian sport. Again new gold medal in basketball. Croatian junior national basketball team is the new European champion. In the final, in front of seven thousand fanatical supporters in Vilnius, Croatia has won the match against Lithuania - which was home team, with a score of 88:76.

In Croatian team was excelent Dario Saric with 39 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks. 18-year old boy from Sibenik has played a "one-man-show". His shoot from game was 15-24, with 14-18 for two, and 1-6 for three points. He lost only two balls.

It would be unfair to say that he won alone title in the finals, because he had the support of the four players over 10 points. From particularly help was Tomislav Gabric - 17 years old, especially when it was an uncertain outcome in the first half of game. He scored 14 points with a perfect shoot from the game (4-4 for two, and 2-2 for three points). Eleven points and five assists, added Jakov Mustapić, while Mislav Brzoja and Domagoj Mavra contributed to this gold medal, with ten points. Brzoja had seven rebounds, five assists and four steals, while Mavra under baskets caught six balls. Karlo Zganec scored 4 points.

Croatia was better from beginning of the match. In 14-th minute of the match, score was 31-19, but the advantage completely melted at the beginning of the third quarter, when Lithuanians took the lead only time in the game (40-38). After that Jaksa Vulic has called time out and our boys react with series of 10-0. After that Lithuanians came again just to one point behind (48-47), but that was all.
Croatia was better in all elements of the game, except in a throwing for three-points. Especially better we were in assists (19-10) and in steals (13-3).

This is new great triumph for this generation, who won before two years in Montenegro cadet title of European Champion.
