Credit Card Debt May Escalate on December 21st 2012 End of the World Hysteria

The end of the world is highly unlikely to occur on the exact date it will is said to be, on December 21st 2012. Now given the rate that things are going, humanity is likely going to blow ourselves up before too long but the fact the world is going to end on December 21st 2012 is just a product of mass hysteria. Be that is may, one thing that I can predict for 2012 is not the end of the world, but a lot of people throwing themselves headfirst into debt because they believe the world is going to end.

December 21st 2012- There Will Be Much Debt

I think that this belief that the world is going to end in 2012 and the news media doing little to really discourage it is going to have huge ramifications for the economy. There are a lot of people who are honestly going to believe that this is it, this is the end, 2012 will lead to the economy being obliterated even further. There will be many people who will be racking up debt, because they think that since this is in the end, they really have nothing to lose, because what’s the chances of their being debt collectors in the afterlife?

It’s hard to think what is more dangerous in the hands of a person who is devoid of common sense. A loaded gun or a credit card, as both can potentially hurt themselves and their family, although in different ways. And let’s face it, even in the best of times, there are people who use credit cards irresponsibly and don’t think of the consequences. That they will have to pay that money back and the credit card companies suffer, so there are some indirect consequences for those who do pay their bells.

You give a person who believes the end of the world will happen on December 21st 2012 a credit card…did anyone not think of the chaos that is going to cause? Credit card debt will start increasing to an all-time high into November and especially into December, as people will make extravagant purchases.

All those gadgets, fancy clothes, that gold boat that they always wanted, charge it, stretch that credit to the limit. After all, in their minds the world is going to end, so there is no need to worry about paying it back. We’re all going out so what is it going to hurt to go out in luxury?

Mark my words, there will be people with this mindset. There will be people who into the last month before the supposed end, they will be racking up a lot of charges on their credit card. They will go insane and credit card debt will sky rocket. And potentially other kinds of debt as well, but credit cards, something that leads to high debts in the best of the time, will be the prime offender.

On December 22nd 2012, we’ll see for certain. It has the potential to lead to a scary situation. There are people who honestly believe that the world will end. It is scary to see how society has degraded. The world may end someday, perhaps sooner than we think but December 21st 2012 is unlikely to be the day. Only time will tell
