I understand that people are Christian. I understand that people are Pro-Life and Pro-Choice. What I cannot understand is how a Christian can be Pro-Choice. I have struggled with this subject for years. I must admit I need help. I cannot equate a Christian (as I know it) being Pro-Choice.

In my belief system, Jesus loved the little children. He made it fairly clear that you were not to harm them. Being a Christian means being Christ-like. Would Jesus be Pro-Choice? No. I cannot feature Jesus being anything but Pro-Life.

Then the subject of when is a baby a human being enters the abortion discussion. At conception is the only answer I can come up with. I mean, how do you put a certain day, week or month as the "moment" a human being becomes a human being? I have never found in the Bible where it says at what date a baby is supposed to be considered "human". Even if you do not look to the Bible for this answer, how in the world do you precisely know the moment of a human becoming a human if not at conception?

In years gone by, when abortion was strictly taboo, there was no gray area of conception or day, week or month. It was all pretty black and white. Abortion was wrong and there was no right to it. The church, Christians, all believed that it was wrong. Over the last 30 years it has become clear that many churches and many Christians have decided to embrace the abortion of babies..the abortion of human beings.

I wonder to myself how people can read the Bible, believe in God, love Jesus and or sit in church every Sunday and think it is okay to be Pro-Choice instead of Pro-Life. I have tried not to be tunnel visioned about this. And, as the elections heat up every cycle, I come back to this same head scratcher. People who know me know that I truly do not understand this. I have never gotten a reasonable answer.

I do not believe that abortion is the unforgivable sin. I do not write this to invoke guilt on anyone. I do not write this to champion Pro-Life and denigrate Pro-Choice. I do question a Christian who supports Pro-Choice though. Are you ever scared that you are wrong? Are you claiming to be Pro-Choice in order to make yourself feel better? Are you claiming to be Pro-Choice in order to be politically correct? Do you really think that a baby in the first trimester is disposable?

I am hopelessly Pro-Life. And, to be totally honest .. I do not understand how anyone, Christian or non-Christian can take the life of a baby. I can hardly stand to lose a baby from a farm animal..much less the abortion of a human baby. And yes, I know a woman has the right to dictate what goes on with her body..but I really thought that meant things like whether you got a tattoo or whether you wanted to have sex with someone. Whether you dyed your hair or smoked or drank. I always wonder who, besides Jesus, is thinking about the rights of the unborn baby.

I need Christians who are Pro-Life and Pro-Choice to help me understand the abortion issue.

I agree with you on this. How can murdering an unborn ever be justified? It is a sad reality and it happens far too often.
