My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous (1 john 2:1).
I’m always so inspired by the depth of the father’s love for us. He sent Jesus to die for us, raised Him from the dead, and appointed Him as our advocate against the devil, who is described in the scripture as the accuser of God’s people.
Sickness is sin to the body just as sin is sickness to the spirit. Faith is doing what God tell us to do them expecting God to do what he tells us he will do. Faith does what God tells you to do, then expect God to do what he said he would do. That’s faith! The bible is a living pulsating thrilling book of truth. When you stand by God word, God will stand by you. Faith disregards everything but God’s word 2cor1:20. By faith you stand, faith in God’s word always bring answer. Faith is expecting God to do what you know he has said in his word that he will do. Faith is believing that God speak the truth.
God deals with his children like this, first he gives us a promise, then when that promise creates faith which produces actions, he fulfills it. God has never asked that we exercise faith for something that he has not first promise to do for us. Before attempting to exercise faith for anything, you need to know what the scriptures plainly teach: that it is just as much God’s will to heal the body, as it is God’s will to heal the spirit. It is only by knowing that God promises what you are seeking that all uncertainty can be removed and steadfast faith can be possible, until we know what God’s will concerning a thing, there is nothing without his word. When your eyes are on your symptoms and your mind is occupied with them more than with God’s word, you have planted the wrong kind of seed for the harvest that you desire. You have in your mind seed of doubts. You are trying to raise one kind of crop from another kind of seeds. After you plant seed, you believe it is growing even before you see it: that is faith. The evidences for faith are much stronger then those for doubting. Don’t doubt your faith, doubt your doubt your, for they are unreliable. You cannot find a case where God said, it is not my will to heal you or it is necessary for you to suffer for disciplinary purpose, is answer was always l will. The word saved is the Greek word SOZO which when properly translated carries the meaning of physical and spiritual healing.
The word salvation is an all – inclusive word which means full deliverance, complete safety, preservation and soundness spiritually mentally and physical. If Christ has borne our sickness and pain, and if he took our infirmities and bore our sickness, that proves that we need not bear them. He, as our substitute has bore them in our place, so we are set free. If Jesus wanted us to be sick, he wouldn’t have borne our sickness and diseases for us. Faith believes that God will do what you know he said in his word that he would do.
The message of substitution is that Christ bore our sin so that we need not bear them, but be saved from them in the same way. Christ bore our sickness so that we need not bear them but be healed of them. Christ did not bear our trials, persecutions, hardship or troubles. But he did bear our sins and sickness. He bore them so that we need not bear them. That is why he is our substitute, he took our place. The word affliction has nothing to do with sickness or physical disability. It means trials, hardship, persecution or temptations. James 5:13, 2cor 9:8. Praying the prayer of faith does not necessarily mean that the answer is seen or felt immediately.
Feeling smelling, tasting, hearing and seeing are the senses by which the natural person is directed. The word of God and faith are the two factors by which the spiritual person is directed. Bring your request to him and leave the result with him. Give him a chance to do for you what he has being waiting so long to do, but could not until you were ready to act on his word in faith. Christianity is saying what God says. A Christian is known as a confession that is saying what God says, talking the language of the bible at all time.
What to speak? You cannot confess or witness of things you do not know, you must confess what you know personally about Jesus Christ and about what you are in him. You know these facts through his word. The secret of confession and of positive faith lies in getting a true understanding of:
1. what Jesus actually did for you
2. what you are in him as a result of it
3. What the bible promises what you can do as a result of his finished work in you. This knowledge coupled with a firm confession of these facts and action which correspond, develops the highest kind of faith. This knowledge comes through the word of God. Salvation is your emancipation from everything out side God’s will for humankind. Now you can act accordingly, you may speak the language of a winner.
We need to know the things we want to obtain by faith and the thing we already have.
