Child Molester Caught After 18 Years

Jeffery Reed Parrish spent 18 years as a fugitive from justice. The 65 year old Parrish was charged with molesting a 4 year old little girl in Carpinteria, California. Parrish was arrested in Panajachel located about 90 miles from Guatemala. Parrish was deported back to the US for prosecution.

When the fugitive was taken into custody on Thursday afternoon July 12, 2012 he was using the alias Blake. Authorities also stated that when he was arrested he did not resist and he went with them peacefully.

Parrish was scheduled to go to trial in 1994, but before he was prosecuted he decided to run instead of receiving his punishment for the crime.

It has been reported that while Parrish was in Panajachel he supported himself as a gardener. According to authorities he kept to himself and people did not know if his alias Blake was his first or last name and no one even bothered to ask.

It has not yet been disclosed if Parish lived anywhere else while he was on the run but officers believe he lived in the Panajachel area for the majority of the 18 years.

Authorities also believe that Parrish has sexual assaulted other victims before he was apprehended and they are asking for the assistance of anyone that may have any information pertaining to other crimes to please come forth.

It is good to know that Parrish is off the streets and is on the way to be tried by a jury of his peers.
