This is my recipe for a super quick and tasty Chicken and Bacon Tagliatelle, that makes a great meal for the whole family. Chicken and Bacon Tagliatelle is a great source of protein and carbohydrates, makes it a great meal for refueling after some serious exercise.
This recipe is based on my Creamy Tagliatelle recipe, with the addition of chicken breast and is another family favourite.
Just like the Creamy Tagliatelle recipe this recipe is perfect for a dinner party or quiet family meal, in addition to this my Chicken and Bacon Tagliatelle is a great way to refuel after some serious exercise.
6-8 Rashers of unsmoked back bacon – sliced into strips
2 Chicken breasts – sliced into strips
150g of button mushrooms – washing and finely chopped
1 large white onion – peeled and finely chopped
300ml of crème fraishe
400g of tagliatelle pasta
1 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil
1 Teaspoon of freshly ground Black Pepper
Heat the olive oil in a medium sized pan and add the chopped bacon, chicken, mushrooms, onion and black pepper.
Reduce the heat to a medium setting and slowly cook the bacon, mushrooms and onion in their juices for 12-14 minutes.
Once the cooking juices have almost cooked away add the crème fraishe and heat through without boiling.
While the bacon, mushrooms and onion are stewing away, cook the tagliatelle as per the instructions on the packet.
Once all the pasta is cooked and drained add it to the pan with the bacon, chicken, mushrooms and onion and mix it all together.
Once mixed you are ready to serve. Now all that is left to do is sit down with you family or friends and your homemade chick and bacon tagliatelle.
