Love's Prophecy: Chapter Six:Learning To Identify Love Pt.1

It was about a two hour drive back to where “grandpa” Samuel lived. On the way, Grace poured out her heart on what had been going on the last few days and the talk about her being shipped off to a boarding school. She talked to him about how unwanted she felt and that she wished her “Prince” would come and be the one to show her the love she felt she needed.

Grace rarely ever brought up the boy topic, but Samuel began to feel the shift in her, she was a late pre-teen. At that age, girls start to become more interested in boys. Samuel, knew it was time to become more intentional about instructing her on that topic. She needed to know that she was not a typical girl and would not be doing the typical dating game as she grew up.

It was part of Samuel’s “job description” to make sure that he taught her what it meant to be loved right and to learn how to receive the pure and wholesome love, from The One From On High. That way she would really know how to identify true love when it came. Samuel, knew that her father was failing at being a good teacher on true love and now it was his time step in and coach her heart on the area of true love.

He recognized it was a very vulnerable time and it would be easy for Grace to go off on the wrong path with young men if someone who really cared for her didn’t watch over her heart and help guide her. The heart and the destiny of what true love has to offer to the world, is no joke.

As they pulled up at Samuel’s house, he said, “There is a special book I have. It was written for a real life girl (not telling her, that the real life girl was her.). It is an old book, written a long, long time ago. It is one of my favorite stories about true love and other aspects of life. I like to read from it from time to time because it actually teaches me about true love.”

Grace chimed in, “Well, papa Samuel, aren’t you a little too old to be worried about true love?”

Samuel, gave a hearty laughed and said, “No one is ever too old to learn. No one is ever too old to learn about true love and how to operate in love. Us old fogies forget these things sometimes. Like I said, this book is my favorite story in the whole world! May I read a portion of it to you? I promise you will learn a lot about how to identify the essence of true love. You are coming to the age, where it would be easy for you to fall for the wrong young men. This will help to teach what the right one will look like, from internal qualities.
